How To Add A Subscribe Pop Up On Wix Website – Fast & Simple Steps
Before I proceed, it’s important for you to note that before you can add popups to your Wix website, you need a popup creator, and there are many of them such as Wisepops, Flodesk, and so on.
In this tutorial, we will be using Wisepops as it has proven to be simple, effective, and has a 4.9-star rating (out of 5) on GetApp.
Having said that, follow the instructions below carefully as the steps will guide you on how to add a subscribe pop up on Wix website:
Step 1: Get a Wisepops account by going to the Wisepops signup page.
Put your email address or use your Google account to start, then include
your login information, and add your details in the next window.
Go ahead to agree to the terms of service so as to create a Free account.
Click Start My Free Trial (zero commitment).
Step 2: Now, you are in the Wisepops dashboard, add popups to your Wix website with a setup code, and to do this, you need to incorporate some code in your Wix admin panel.
Don’t fret as it is a simple process, just do the following:
– Go to the top of the Wisepops dashboard, and click Get my setup code, and you will see the code.
– Copy the code, log in to your Wix panel, and paste the code at the end of the pages where you want pop ups then follow the installation instructions.
– Click Back to websites and go back to the dashboard by clicking the Wisepops logo located in the top left corner of your screen.
– Now, it’s time to switch to Wix, so go to your Wix Editor, go to Settings > Custom code in the Advanced section.
– Next, you’ll find your website’s code in a small window.
– Click +Add Custom Code located in the top right corner to edit the code, however, note that the code must go before the <body> tag.
Step 3: Having done all of those, create your first popup campaign, so you have to go back to the Wisepops dashboard, and to achieve this, follow the instructions below.
– Click New Campaign in Wisepops dash.
– Wisepops will offer you two ways to achieve this, and it can be either through a campaign assistant or a custom campaign.
– If you are creating a popup campaign for the first time, I suggest you settle for Campaign Assistant as it’s an easier option for beginners.
Going forward, we will be using it for this tutorial.
Step 4: Answer the question – What is your campaign goal? You have to decide what you are creating the campaign for.
The goal could be to share customer service-related notifications, survey customers, generate sales with discounts, build an email list, or any business related goal, if you are doing this for your business.
In this article, I am creating this campaign for growing our audience, so I am going to create a subscribe popup for my Wix site to get emails from visitors.
Choose the way to grow your audience, and select a Newsletter to proceed.
Step 5: After clicking on the Newsletter, you’ll be redirected to the newsletter template gallery.
Here, you can choose what your future popup will look like ranging from a full-screen to a small, non-intrusive Wix popup.

Basically, this is the time to choose a popup template.
For this campaign, we will be settling for the traditional template, so just preview any template on your website by clicking the preview button that appears once you hover over a template.
Step 6: The next step is to customize the campaign by going to the campaign editor.
You have to customize the Wix popup window to reflect your brand by hovering over an element to see the button that allows editing. Also, note that the design, the Wix pop up text, image, and colors inclusive must reflect your website’s colors and fonts.
By doing so, the popup will naturally blend in.
For instance, hover over the headline to see the Edit button.
Having said that, change the following elements to customize the campaign:
– Image
– Color scheme
– CTA button text
– Main text (heading and description)
Step 7: Select when to display your Wix popup as Popup timing has a huge impact on conversions.
That being said, to configure popup timing, go to the Trigger section in the Display main menu option.
Below are some of the places you can show your popup campaign:
– On landing, that is, when a visitor opens the page.
– Timed which is displayed after a certain time on the page.
– Exit-intent shown when a visitor tries to leave.
– On scroll when a visitor reaches a certain percentage of the page.
For the purpose of this campaign, we will go with the On Exit option because the feedback from our clients shows that exit-intent campaigns outperform traditional popups by 5%.
Step 8: The last step before your popup campaign goes live is to activate your Wix popup, and to do this, save your campaign first.
Find the Save button in the top left corner in the campaign editor, and click Campaigns to go to the dashboard.
Then activate your campaign by setting the toggle switch to on.
