A new ATX case trend is developing in the DIY PC world, and it is based on making your case a better, uh, showcase for your hardware. Sure, we had transparent side panels before, but what if you look at the case from the front or the top? That obstructed view cannot stand, so a trend has emerged that involves adding more windows to a case and removing the seams between the panels for an unfettered view of the hardware inside. Now Lian Li has jumped on this bandwagon with several new cases that include both wraparound glass panels and a case with three glass panels, which is a first. It’s also unveiled a slick new case fan that includes a display, a novel concept. Overall, Lian Li’s products attempt to up the “wow” factor for PC hardware in 2023.
The company displayed its latest wares at Computex and showed off several new cases that up the stakes for transparent panels. They all look like they’re based on the 011 Dynamic, which features front-and-side glass panels. The first new case is the 011 Vision (above), which features glass panels in the front, on the side, and even along the top, which is new. One interesting feature is the top panel is a one-sided mirror, so it will reflect the light inside the case while still allowing you to see through it. Of course, the only issue this design causes is most people like to put their radiator at the top of their case. Lian Li thought of this and included room on the back of the chassis for a 240mm radiator and fan setup. It will be available in black or white with an MSRP of $139 and will be available in Q3.

Next up is the 011 EVO RGB, similar to the standard O11 case but has a removable support beam in the corner for an uninterrupted view of your PC’s hardware. It still has glass front-and-side panels, and a traditional top panel supports up to a 360mm radiator. The case also has RGB perimeter lighting at the top and bottom, a unique feature. It’ll be available in black and white for $169 and $179, respectively.
Three of these will set you back $130, which will really test peoples’ commitment to case bling.

Another interesting product is its UNI TL LCD fan series, which include a display. This tiny screen can show animated GIFs, images, or system information, and they can also attach to each other with magnets. The display size is still in flux and will be 1.6 or 2.1 inches when they hit the market in Q3. The company’s website says it’ll cost $129.99 for a three-pack of fans, so it’s a sizable investment for some case bling. Still, there’s no arguing it doesn’t look pretty slick.
