Recently, I have been looking for a smartphone that is a little bit different from regular smartphones in terms of processor type. I had to settle for the Infinix Smart 7 Plus x6517 smartphone due to its unique processor (Unisoc SC9863A1).
As we all know, Infinix usually partners with MediaTek (MTK) when it comes to processors, they rarely make use of snapdragon processors, although they made use of it on one of their smartphones which was the Infinix Hot 3.
Things didn’t turn out well, there were a lot of complaints about the Hot 3 smartphone. But this time around they are trying out something new and not the regular.
In this post, we will be talking about the Infinix Smart 7 x6517 smartphone also known as Infinix Smart 7 Plus that was released in February 2023. At the end of this article, you should be able to decide if to get the Smart 7 x6517 smartphone or not.

Infinix Smart 7 x6517 review
Design and display
The Infinix smart 7 x6517 has a sleek and stylish design that comes in four different colors: black, blue, green, and purple. The back is made of plastic. The phone has a rectangular camera module on the top left corner that houses two lenses and a LED flash and a fingerprint scanner. The phone measures 164.20x 75.63 x 9.37mm and weighs 207 grams.
The Infinix Smart 7 x6517 display is one of its main attractions. The phone has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels and a pixel density of 263 ppi. The screen has a waterdrop notch on the top that houses the selfie camera.
The screen also supports a refresh rate -of 60Hz that makes the animations and transitions smoother and more responsive. The display has good brightness, contrast, and color reproduction, but it lacks sharpness and clarity due to the low resolution. The display also has a wide viewing angle and decent sunlight legibility.
Camera
The Infinix Smart 7 Plus has a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of a 13MP main lens and a 0.3MP depth sensor. The main camera can capture decent photos in good lighting conditions, with accurate colors and details.
However, it struggles in low-light situations, as the photos tend to be blurry. The depth sensor helps to create a bokeh effect for portrait shots, but it is not very accurate and sometimes blurs the edges of the subject. The camera also lacks features like HDR, panorama, and night mode, which are common in other budget phones.
The front camera of the Infinix Smart 7 x6517 is a 5MP lens that can take selfies and video calls. The selfie camera has a LED flash that can brighten up your face in dark environments, but it also makes your skin look washed out and unnatural. The selfie camera can also apply some beauty filters and stickers to enhance your appearance, but they are not very realistic and sometimes distort your facial features.
The video recording quality of the Infinix Smart 7 Plus is average at best. The phone can record videos at 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second, but the videos lack stability and clarity. The audio quality is also poor, as the microphone picks up a lot of background noise and distortion.
Hardware and software
The Infinix Smart 7 X6517 has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels. The display is bright and colorful, but not very sharp or detailed. It is powered by a Unisoc SC9863A1 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device has a dual rear camera setup, 13MP main sensor, and a 0.3MP depth sensor. The front camera is a 5MP sensor with a LED flash.
Moving to the software aspect, the smart 7 comes with a RAM expander feature which can be used to expand the RAM up to a maximum of 3GB giving it a total of 7GB RAM. The device runs on the Android 12 operating system based on XOS 12.0.0 and some Google apps pre-installed on it.
Network
The smart 7 Plus smartphone supports 4g, 3g, and 2g networks. Unfortunately, the Infinix Smart 7 x6517 doesn’t come with 5G network support.
Battery
If you are looking for a budget smartphone with a long-lasting battery, you might want to consider the Infinix Smart 7 (X6517) smartphone.
This device comes with a large 6000mAh battery that can easily last for two days on a single charge, it also supports 10W fast charging. According to Infinix, the battery can provide up to 40 hours of talk time, up to 15 hours of video playback, up to 20 hours of web browsing, or up to 35 days of standby time.
In our tests, we found that the battery can easily last for two days with moderate usage, which includes calls, messages, social media, gaming, and streaming. The device also has a power-saving mode that can extend the battery life further by limiting some features and functions.

What I like about the Infinix smart 7 x6517
The back design
The back design of the Smart 7 Plus looks appealing to the eyes. I love the way the cameras and fingerprints were positioned. I also love how the camera and fingerprint were restricted with a line running four corners around them. What about the lines all over the back of the phone, it gives a good grip on the hand.
The CPU
I haven’t reviewed any smartphone on this blog powered by a Unisoc processor, and that was one of the reasons I got this smartphone. I wanted to see and feel what it feels like using a Unisoc processor, so far so good the device is running smoothly.
What I don’t like about the Infinix smart 7 x6517
The camera
The bad side of this smartphone is its bad camera. The back camera is a little bit better than the front camera no doubt. The selfie 5MP camera is nothing good to write home about. The selfie camera only takes good pictures when there’s enough light in the environment. But in areas with low light, the picture looked faded and blurry

Conclusion
The Infinix Smart 7 X6517 is one of the best budget smartphones when it comes to battery life. It can outlast many other devices in its price range that have smaller batteries or more power-hungry processors. The device also offers decent performance, a large display, and a full-fledged Android OS with some useful features.
However, the device also has some drawbacks, such as a low-resolution display, an average camera quality, and a heavyweight.
The Infinix Smart 7 Plus x6517 is not a great choice for photography enthusiasts like the Tecno Spark 10 smartphone, as it has mediocre cameras that do not offer much versatility or quality.
But if you are looking for a basic phone that can handle your daily tasks and last longer on a single charge, you might find the Infinix Smart 7 x6517 satisfactory.
