IT Chronicles is live at CES2023, covering the hottest technology topics and the impact these technologies will have in the future, according to industry leaders.

Here’s what we discovered attending a presentation by North American Bosch President Mike Mansuett and Dr. Taja Rucker, a member of Bosh’s Board of Management, on the promises of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and the advancement of sensor technology.

Since 2005, Bosch Sensortec has led the technology world to create sensing solutions based on advanced microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) in consumer electronics with numerous applications and use cases. The global sensor market alone is projected to double in size to over 400 billion by 2030, and the quantum sensor market is expected to reach 7 billion dollars within the next few years.

The reasons for this explosive growth in Microelectromechanical Systems are evident. Today people increasingly rely on sensor technology in daily life. Sensors enhance safety, security, health and well-being, and environmental sustainability. As Mike Mansuett, Bosch’s North American President, stated, “Thanks to sensors, our lives are safer. We use fewer resources. We even breathe cleaner air.”

Although still in the early development stages, quantum sensors, which are 1,000 times more precise than current sensors, will soon significantly revolutionize the healthcare industry. For example, this new technology offers great promise for early Alzheimer’s detection and prosthetic limb advancements. Additionally, Bosch is focused on innovations that will revolutionize safety measures for drivers and passengers. For example, RideCare Companion, a new safety solution dashcam, has been designed specifically for rideshare drivers. This hardware and software solution will allow passengers to access a wireless SOS button and immediately connect to emergency assistance, who will have live access to a camera in the vehicle.

From healthcare to safety, the future of Microelectromechanical Systems is packed with limitless possibilities that will directly improve people’s lives. Bosh’s technological developments will undoubtedly impact the automotive industry, healthcare, entertainment, communication, and more. As part of their commitment to advancing the technology, Bosch has announced a ten billion dollar investment in company growth as sensor technology becomes even more prominent to help everyone live #LikeABosh.
